Save a babies life

If your child stopped breathing would you know what to do? Watertots is working with the Royal Life Saving society to bring you the “Save a Baby’s Life” course – this is open for anyone who cares for the child be it, parents, nannies, grandparents or even older siblings.

Jill Brennan from Watertots says “The Save a Baby’s Life course gives all child carers the key skills to help children in a crisis, whether in the home, at nursery, in the park or at the swimming pool. Three short hours gives you the tools to save a Childs life and will teach you the basic requirements to perform resuscitation and what to do in the event of choking.”

Drowning is obviously only one of the ways a child can stop breathing and in 2008 18 children under 15 drowned in the UK and 170 were taken to hospital after nearly drowning (Child Accident Prevention Trust).

“Teaching kids to swim is our passion and we do not see it as an extra curriculum activity but a compulsary life saving skill.”

Course Details: The courses will take place in both East and South Belfast (evenings and weekends) over the next few months. The cost will be a minimum donation of £10 (made payable to Lifesavers) and the fee must be forwarded before your place is confirmed. Please contact us and we will e-mail you back regarding availability.

Water Safety and care is something that is very close to our hearts.
